- traceCORE Mobile Device Legality Control is a comprehensive system that ensures mobile devices with SIM card support meet legal standards, including registration fees and taxes.
- The control is carried out using the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) mobile device numbers that help identify and track down devices.
- IMEI numbers of all legal mobile devices operating in the country must be registered in the system controlled by the government, and checked for theft, counterfeiting, and tax evasion.
- Mobile devices that are not registered in the system are considered illegal and have to be switched off the mobile connection.
How does it work?
For importers and producers
- Importers and local producers of mobile devices get registered in the Mobile Device Legality Control system via web interface and fill in the document listing the IMEI codes and other necessary information.
- The system verifies the authenticity of the IMEI codes. Fake and cloned devices will be rejected by the system.
- If devices are imported, the importer must complete a customs declaration in accordance with the established procedures of the Customs Service.
- Applications for device registration in the Mobile Device Legality Control system, submitted by importers and local producers, are checked by the Tax Authority and the Customs Service information systems to confirm the payment of all duties.
- Once the system verifies the authenticity of the IMEI codes for the devices and receives approval from customs and tax inspectors, all declared devices will be registered in the Mobile Device Legality Control system.
For consumers
- When purchasing a phone after the system's launch, consumers will not need to register the phone themselves, as this is handled by importers and local producers.
- Consumers will be able to check the registration of the mobile devices on the website before buying.
- Those who purchase devices abroad or order them through international marketplaces, must register the phone themselves on the website and pay the registration fee.
- Mobile devices, which were purchased abroad or through international marketplaces and not registered in the system within a certain period, will be switched off the mobile connection.
- The Mobile Device Legality Control system will not contain citizens' personal data and will not violate their right to privacy.
